Medical Care on Wheels in your Community
 

The mobile unit is a medical office on wheels. The staff includes a certified registered nurse practitioner and medical assistant.  Services billed directly to your insurance company.  Uninsured?  No problem!  Insurance assistance available.  Reduced fees may apply for the uninsured.  

 

Emergency services are not provided on the unit. 

 

The unit travels to multiple locations throughout southwestern Pennsylvania and West Virginia bringing medical services to your door. The mobile unit staff specializes in providing care to low-income and at-risk population.

Services provided on the Mobile Medical Unit include:

 

  • Treatment for a brief illness. Strep throat and flu are examples.

  • Treatment for long-term illnesses that require ongoing medical care.  High blood pressure and diabetes are examples.

  • Laboratory services such as lipid profiles, lead screens or anemia panels, for example.

  • School physicals- Social Security card and ID necessary for child and parent.

  • Employment physicals

  • CDL physicals

  • Sports physicals

  • Pregnancy testing

  • Screening and treatment for sexually transmitted diseases.

  • Women’s health services including clinical breast exam, mammogram referral and Pap smear.

  • Some Prescription assistance. No drugs are kept on board the unit.

 

Referrals offered for:

  • "Relief of Pain" services

  • Mental health treatment

  • Substance abuse treatment

 

For a successful visit:

  • Please bring the name of your last doctor

  • Insurance card

  • If uninsured, please bring proof of income (such as your most recent Tax Return)

  • List of medication

  • Know your allergies

  • Know your last pharmacy used

  • Contact and next of kin information
